What is The Mourning Forecast?

Mission: To provide compassionate support and resources to families facing grief and loss, ensuring that no one feels alone during some of life’s most challenging times.
Vision: To build a community where every grieving family is surrounded by support, understanding, and care, transforming grief into a shared journey of healing and hope.

What services or programs do you provide, and how do you support the community?

The Mourning Forecast provides compassionate support and resources to families grieving the loss of a child. We offer trauma-informed care training for professionals, bereavement photography services, and community workshops designed to help those who support bereaved families. Our goal is to ensure that no one faces loss alone, providing a safe space for healing through education, advocacy, and direct support.

Have you received 501(c)(3) status, and is sponsorship considered a tax-deductible donation?

We have filed for our 501(c)(3) status and are currently awaiting approval. Until we receive this official designation, we can still operate as a nonprofit organization, but donations made prior to receiving approval may not be tax-deductible. Once our status is confirmed, sponsorships and donations will qualify as tax-deductible under IRS guidelines.

What are the different levels of sponsorship?

Bronze: For smaller contributions, this level helps support our foundational programs.
Silver: Mid-level sponsors contribute significantly to our outreach and family support services.
Gold: Top-tier sponsors provide substantial funding that helps expand our programs and make a lasting community impact.

What benefits will sponsors receive at each level?

Bronze: Recognition on our social media platforms and website as a community supporter, plus a thank-you mention in our quarterly newsletter.
Silver: All Bronze benefits, plus your logo featured on promotional materials and event signage, along with public acknowledgment at our events.
Gold: All Silver benefits, plus prominent logo placement on our website, dedicated sponsor spotlights on social media, and top billing at events. You will also be featured in media outreach where applicable.

Can you provide a breakdown of how the sponsorship funds will be allocated?

Sponsorship funds will be thoughtfully allocated to ensure maximum impact. A percentage of the funds will support families through services like bereavement photography and grief resources. Another portion will cover community events, workshops, and outreach programs aimed at educating professionals and supporting families. A small portion will be used for necessary administrative expenses, such as operational costs and marketing efforts to raise awareness about our mission.

Will the funds go directly to support families, events, or administrative costs?

Yes, sponsorship funds will be divided among these areas:
Direct Support for Families: Helping grieving families access our services free of charge.
Events and Programs: Organizing workshops, support groups, and community outreach.
Administrative Costs: Ensuring the smooth operation of our nonprofit, including staff and operational essentials

How will my sponsorship help your nonprofit grow or achieve specific milestones?

Your sponsorship will be instrumental in helping us expand our services and reach more families in need. With your support, we can offer additional trauma-informed training for professionals, increase our outreach to bereaved families, and provide more direct services, such as bereavement photography and grief resources. Our key milestones include broadening our community workshops, increasing the number of families we support, and eventually establishing a permanent space like “Glory’s Garden,” where grieving families can come for healing and support.

Do you have any stories or testimonials to show how your work has already impacted the community?

Yes, we have had the honor of supporting grieving families and received heartfelt feedback. One mother shared that our bereavement photography helped her feel seen and validated during one of the most difficult times of her life. Another family expressed deep gratitude for the compassionate care and resources we provided, stating that our services helped them navigate their grief in a way that brought them peace. These stories drive our passion for this work and highlight the real impact we are making in the community.

Do you have specific events, workshops, or campaigns that will benefit from the sponsorship?

Yes, we have a number of exciting workshops and trainings planned over the next six months. These include bereavement care training for professionals, bereavement photography workshops, and other community-focused sessions designed to support grieving families. Your sponsorship would directly support these initiatives and help us grow our impact in the community. Funds from sponsors will help us cover essential costs such as renting event spaces, securing materials for workshops, and purchasing supplies for hands-on training. Additionally, sponsorship funds will support booth space rentals at various community events and markets, where we can gain more exposure and reach more families in need.

Can sponsors participate in or attend these events to see their impact firsthand?

Yes! We would love for sponsors to attend any of our available trainings and workshops. It’s a great opportunity to see the direct impact of your support and engage with the community. By attending, sponsors can witness firsthand how their contributions make a real difference in the lives of grieving families. Where do you see your nonprofit in the next 1, 5, or 10 years?

In 1 year: We aim to have established a solid foundation by securing our 501(c)(3) status, expanding our community outreach, and successfully hosting our first series of workshops.
In 5 years: We envision The Mourning Forecast as a recognized leader in bereavement support, with a robust network of trained professionals and a variety of services available to families in need. We plan to develop partnerships with healthcare providers to ensure that bereavement care is integrated into existing medical support systems.
In 10 years: We aspire to purchase property to create “Glory’s Garden,” a dedicated space for grief support and healing. This facility would serve as both our office and a classroom space for workshops, providing a sanctuary for families navigating their grief.

How do sponsors play a role in your long-term goals and sustainability?

Sponsors are vital to our long-term goals and sustainability. Their support allows us to invest in necessary resources, such as training programs, community events, and outreach initiatives that directly benefit families. By partnering with us, sponsors help build the infrastructure needed to expand our services and ensure we can continue offering support to those in need. Additionally, their contributions help raise awareness about our mission, allowing us to reach more families and make a lasting impact in the community. Ultimately, sponsors are instrumental in helping us realize our vision and achieve our milestones.

Are there opportunities for employees or representatives of the business to volunteer or get involved in other ways?

There are many ways to get involved beyond financial support. We welcome businesses and their representatives to participate in our community events, workshops, and outreach initiatives. Whether through volunteering time, providing expertise, or helping with logistics, your involvement can significantly enhance our impact. We encourage employees and representatives from sponsoring businesses to volunteer at our events, assist with workshops, or help with administrative tasks. Can sponsors collaborate on specific projects or initiatives?

Yes, we are open to collaboration on specific projects and initiatives! If a sponsor has a particular area of interest or expertise, we would love to discuss how we can work together to create meaningful programs or events. Whether it’s co-hosting workshops, participating in community events, or developing resources for bereaved families, we value the unique contributions that sponsors can bring to our mission.

Will my business be the only one in my industry sponsoring your organization?

We do not offer exclusivity in sponsorships. We believe that collaboration among various businesses can help us reach a wider audience and make a more significant impact in supporting families. By having multiple sponsors from different industries, we can collectively enhance our visibility and create a more robust network of support for grieving parents. We welcome sponsors from various industries and encourage collaboration, allowing us to build a diverse network of support to serve a broader range of families in need.

How many sponsors are you aiming to secure?

We aim to secure a diverse group of sponsors to help us grow our outreach and impact. For our initial launch, we are looking to partner with around 5-10 sponsors, which will allow us to build strong relationships while maximizing the support we can provide to the community. This inclusive approach ensures that we can effectively reach and support as many families as possible.
